CHURCH LEADERSHIP

PASTOR DR. LUTHER S. ALLEN III

Rev. Dr. Luther S. Allen III was installed as the 12th Pastor of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church on October 14, 2012. He holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA, and an earned Doctor of Ministry Degree in Congregational Mission and Leadership from the historic Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN.
Pastor Allen serves as 2nd Vice-Moderator of the Tidewater-Peninsula Baptist Association, is the President’s Liaison for the Tidewater Region for the Virginia Baptist State Convention, Inc., and is a CLS Dean for the Sunday School Publishing Board, Inc. Nashville, TN, which certifies him to administrate nationally certified Christian Education training. Dr. Allen also supports the work of Union Mission Ministries, Norfolk, by serving as a part-time Shelter Manager at the Ted Bashford Men’s Shelter.

Dr. Allen embodies the spirit of Matthew 25:31-40, and faithfully leads “First Church” in the Kingdom Work of feeding the poor, clothing the naked, assisting the homeless, and visiting the sick and confined. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he shepherds the congregation in bearing witness to the “Already but Not Yet” Kingdom of God, and fulfilling the missio Dei, God’s mission in the world.
He is married to our Rev. “First Lady” Jackie, and they are blessed to be the parents of two adult daughters, Kaelani and Victoria, as well as two granddaughters, Madisyn and Mara.

FIRST LADY JACQUELINE ALLEN

Rev. Jacqueline Allen is the wife of our pastor, a mighty woman of faith, and a licensed minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a graduate of Norfolk State University, veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a proud “country girl” who is quick to testify about the goodness of the Lord! Her favorite saying is, “To God be the GLORY for the Great Things He Has Done!”
Rev. “First Lady” Jackie serves as the co-leader of the First Lynnhaven Children’s Ministry, ages 5 – 12, and teaches in Children’s Church on Sundays.  Not surprisingly, her spiritual life and passionate advocacy for children intersect in her secular vocation as a Juvenile Intake Officer for the Norfolk Court Services Unit, where she has served for almost thirty years.
Her daughter Victoria is the joy of her life, and she showers equal love upon her step-daughter Kaelani, grand-daughters, Madisyn and Mara, and mother-in-love, Mama Lillian.
